Travel Permit (TP) is a document issued to a Bangladesh citizen who does not possess a valid Bangladesh passport. Travel Permit is a one-way travel document for returning to Bangladesh. Applicant’s personal interview at the Consulate General is mandatory for issuing a Travel Permit. Travel Permit is valid for a specified period and cannot be dispatched through postal/courier services.
Requirements for issuing a Travel Permit:
i) Copy of the current/previous passport or copy of Birth Certificate or National ID
ii) 1 passport size colour photograph with white background, photograph should not be older than 6 months.
iii) Copy of the Police report for the lost passport
iv) Payment by Bank Draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque or Payment by credit/debit card at the consulate General
v) Applicant’s personal interview
Download and print the ‘TP Application Form’; complete each part of the application and sign. Applicant’s signature in the TP Application Form’ should match with the Bangladesh Passport or National ID.
General Instructions for filling up the Travel Permit Application Form
- Attach a colour photograph (45mm x 35mm) with white background; not older than 6 months.
- Personal details and payment details (as applicable) must be filled in.
- Apply with all required documents, otherwise, application will not be considered for issuing TP.
- Use Tick mark (√) in the check Box.
- Deposit appropriate fee to the bank and attach the Bank Draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque on the top of the application form.
- Paid TP fee is non-refundable.
- The authority’s decision regarding issuing TP is final.
Pay an amount of C$ 60 (sixty) by Bank Draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque addressed to the “Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto”, please see Consular Fees. During the in person submission payment can be made through debit/credit card at the Consulate General, please see Consular Fees. The Consulate General of Bangladesh does not accept any cash.
Applicant needs to book an appointment with the Consulate General for Travel Permit. Appointment can be made through an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org Applicant need to bring the followings documents during the appointment with the Consulate General:
(i) Filled in TP Application Form
(ii) 1 passport size colour photograph
(iii) Copy of the current/previous passport or copy of Birth Certificate or National ID
(iv) Copy of the Police report for the lost passport
(v) Bank Draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque or pay by credit/debit card at the Consulate General.
The Consular Agent will examine the documents and reason for issuing Travel Permit, if the interview and documents are satisfactory the ‘Travel Permit’ will be issued.
Applicant may pick up the TP on the same day of his/her presence at the Consulate General.
