Birth Certificate is a valuable document being issued by the Office of the Registrar of Birth and Death of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It should always be either in your own custody or in the custody of an authorized person. If lost or destroyed, the fact and circumstances should immediately be reported to the nearest Bangladesh Embassy and the local Police.

Birth Certificate is an essential document for applying for:

Step 1 online application form

The following documents are required to be submitted for Birth Registration Certificate:

Passport size one color photograph with white background taken recently within the last six months
Copy of Bangladesh Passport
Fee payment
Self-addressed prepaid return envelope with tracking number
Please enclose the relevant document with the application
If you are sending your application by mail, please use the guaranteed or registered or express mail. Ordinary mail sometimes gets lost or occurs delay. Please also enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postal stamps to return applicant’s documents by registered or guaranteed or express post. We do not accept application by courier (FedEx, DHL, etc.). Please sign the application with place and date.

***Please note – Incomplete application will not be processed and the High Commission will not be held responsible for such application.

Step 3 Payment of fees for your Consular Service

Applicable fees (non-refundable) are to be paid electronically. The fee for Endorsement is $20.00 CDN (Regular – within 10-20 days) or $40.00 CDN (Express – within 3 days) + appropriate taxes and transaction fee.

***Please note – There is no provision of urgent delivery, as the passports are processed and printed in Dhaka, and sent to the Embassy for delivery.
