Bangladesh Disapora in Canada

Regular migration from Bangladesh to Canada is gradually increasing, Bangladesh citizens mainly come to Canada as skilled workers, student, teacher, investors and family members. Currently, number of Bangladesh diaspora in Canada would be around 120,000, who chiefly live in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon. There is a biggest concentration of Bangladesh diaspora (approximately 70,000+) in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) i.e. Scarborough, Victoria Park Avenue, Danforth, Markham, Brampton, and Pickering.

Bangladesh diaspora are visibly present in the mainstream society of Canada; many Bangladeshi-Canadians have established them as successful businessmen and there are good a good number of Bangladeshi restaurants, groceries and boutiques in Toronto and other cities. Most of the Bangladesh origin Canadians are well educated and qualified, a huge number of Bangladesh origin students, teachers, doctors, engineers and agriculturists live in Canada. The Bangladesh-origin second generation are coming up as a great resource, who can meaningfully connect Bangladesh with Canada.

There are few Bangladeshi TV channels in Canada owned by Bangladeshi-Canadians, and a good number of Bangla Newspapers published either online or in printed version from the major cities like; Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal.
